Robin Winningham was born in Milford, Delaware and has spent most of her life living in Coral Springs, Florida. Her parents recognized her desire and ability to become an artist at a young age, and supported her with plastic pottery wheels and art classes. At age 10 Robin compiled her first portfolio that would be submitted with her application to Parkway Middle School of the Arts in Ft. Lauderdale. She was accepted into the program and spent the next three years in the early stages of her affection for ceramics and contemporary art. Robin continued taking art classes in high school, and spent her senior year creating pieces to submit for her AP Studio Art portfolio. Also during that year, she was awarded Best In Show for her work displayed at the Broward County Fair. While attending Florida Atlantic University, Robin enrolled in several ceramics courses and developed an ardor for creating functional pottery.
Robin currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina where she continues to draw on her desire for expression and inspiration through her artwork. She prefers to work with her hands in mediums such as pastels, charcoal and clay. She also enjoys creating textures while painting with acrylics.
